In need of a little spring break, Andy thought New Orleans was the perfect destination!
Once he arrived in the Big Easy, he headed straight for Bourbon Street!
Before experiencing the wonders of go cups, Andy decided to fill up on lunch!
Acme Oyster House came highly recommended, and rightfully so! He thoroughly enjoyed his meal of chargrilled oysters and craw puppies!
As he took a stroll down Bourbon Street to walk off the delicious food, he stumbled upon Tropical Isle, home to the famous – or infamous – Hand Grenade!
Andy had to try one immediately!
Under the influence of that neon green concoction, he was ready to masquerade!
Out of costume, Andy wandered over to Jackson Square to see the gorgeous St. Louis Cathedral!
And, of course, the statue of Andrew Jackson!
Now that he had some sightseeing under his belt, it was back to the bars!
But this led him to call it a night!
The next morning, Andy started the day at a famous New Orleans cafe!
Yum, beignets for breakfast!
Full of energy from all the powdered sugar, he searched for the best view of Jackson Square!
Andy then headed to Pat O’Briens for a Hurricane!
Which he followed with a mint julep to go!
Feeling pretty relaxed, Andy rode the streetcar over to the Garden District.
There he found Lafayette Cemetery…
…as well as the legendary Commander’s Palace restaurant!
But his favorite discovery was a bead dog!
Who Dat?
Looking for something more sophisticated than a Hand Grenade, Andy visited the French 75 Bar at Arnaud’s.
There he was shown the hidden Mardi Gras Museum upstairs!
After keeping it classy for a bit, he ended his trip the only appropriate way -
wearing beads on Bourbon Street!

Andy, you are the coolest!! I wonder how you got those beads though if you don’t wear any clothing anyway….
Haha!
Andy you are completely adorable. Thank you for your postcards from this mischevious New Orleans trip.
Oh, thank you! Andy definitely found New Orleans to be the perfect place to embrace his mischievous side!
Johann thinks this is the most fabulous thing he’s seen all day. We especially love the photo of Andy in masquerade with his eyes peeking out of the flowers! We greatly admire your skill in photojournalism, and Andy’s expressive poses.
Aww, thank you! Andy loved that mask so much!
Entrancing! Makes me all nostaglic for New Orleans, where I used to spend time on occasion while living in the Deep South. In particular, Acme + Cafe Du Monde. Did you make it to Galatoire’s (French Quarter) by any chance? (If not, next visit for sure–assuming it’s still there, I haven’t been to N.O. for ages.)
Ooh, Andy will definitely have to go to Galatoire’s next time – and there will be a next time because he loved New Orleans so much!
Oh my goodness – too cute! And, hidden Mardi Gras Museum? How fabulous!
It was fabulous – and kind of creepy in an awesome way!
Andy definitely laissez les bons temps rouler!
Indeed, he did!
Wow! I am so impressed that Andy had such a good time, yet didn’t get arrested! He has some great new expressions and poses. It took me awhile to find him on the Bead Dog. Andy in the mask is the best picture ever!!!
Andy – the bon vivant of the Big Easy! He should go back for Mardi Gras and ride a float.
